The Nature Reserve designation provides high-level protection underpinned by strict rules and regulations. The aim is to preserve natural spaces and to protect species and habitats threatened with extinction. If we wish to save our rich natural heritage so future generations can also enjoy it, it is our duty to behave in a way that is kind to the environment on these sites.

The complete regulations of the nature reserve are set out in Chapter III of Decree No. 97-209 of 4 March 1997 creating the Rohrschollen Island Nature Reserve.

Rohrschollen Island Nature Reserve is a natural environment open to the public all year round.
Come and explore its network of signed footpaths and discover the different environments within it, being sure to observe the code of conduct at all times.

Important

  • To provide a peaceful safe haven for wildlife, dogs are not permitted inside the Reserve.
  • The Nature Reserve is part of the flood retention plain of the Strasbourg/Kehl agricultural dam. For safety reasons, access to the Reserve is closed to the public during periods of flooding.
