Special Regulations and a Code of Conduct

To protect the site in the long term and reconcile nature conservation with human activities, special regulations have been put in place in Rohrschollen Island Nature Reserve.

MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC PROHIBITED

A tranquil environment is vital for the wildlife to reproduce. Pollution, noise and soil degradation are all harmful to the flora, fauna and other users of the site.

Stay on the pathway

For your personal safety and to maintain the tranquility of the site, keep to the authorized paths only.

dogs prohibited/TO BE KEPT ON A LEASH

The wildlife is sensitive to the presence of dogs and perceive our four-legged friends as predators. Please keep dogs outside the Rohschollen Island nature reserve’s protected area.

In Neuhof-Illkirch Forest, please keep dogs on a leash to preserve the tranquility of the site.

FIRE, CAMPING, NOISE AND GARBAGE PROHIBITED

To preserve the tranquility of the site, camping, bivouacking and open-air barbecues are prohibited in the reserve. Use the specially designated areas for these activities.
To preserve the natural beauty and integrity of the site, dumping waste or pollutants of any kind is strictly prohibited.

plants and FLOWER PICKING PROHIBITED

The plants, flowers, minerals and fossils belong to the countryside—do not damage or remove any natural feature or resource. Be they protected, rare or common, it is important to pass on every element of our natural heritage to future generations so they can be admired by everyone for many years to come.

CONTROLLED FISHERY

The water courses in the reserve are habitats of great importance for the flora and fauna.
Fishing is permitted in the nature reserve. Please adhere to the fishing regulations in force.

MOTORBOATS PROHIBITED

To preserve and promote the tranquility of the nature reserve, only rowboats are authorized for navigation on the water courses.

Any person who contravenes the regulations will be liable to a penalty. Environmental police officers patrol this site. In addition to monitoring the site, officers are on hand to provide information and educate the public. Feel free to ask questions to our officers patrolling the reserve.
