DescrIption
I am a large lizard. I can measure up to 26 cm from my head to the tip of my tail. Both sexes have a brown dorsal strip with white markings, while males have bright green flanks, head and neck.
Behavior
Diet
I mostly eat spiders and insects.
Reproduction
I lay between five and 15 eggs up to three times a year.
Lifespan
I can live for up to 12 years.
Where and when can you find me in the reserve ?
Habitat
I prefer to live in woody wetlands but can also be found in the reserve’s open habitats. You can often find me along the footpaths where I like to hunt.
When to spot me
You can find me between March and October.
Conservation status
- Red list of reptiles in metropolitan France: Near Threatened (NT).
- Red list of endangered reptiles in Alsace: Least Concern (LC);
- Protected in France.
