A medium-sized dragonfly, I measure between 62 and 66 mm on average. I have pretty emerald eyes that contrast with my red-brown body. My name comes from the small yellow triangular mark on my second abdominal segment.
I live on small invertebrates.
I lay my eggs on aquatic plants that hatch about six weeks later. My larvae live hidden in plants in shallow water for one to three years.
Where and when can you find me in the reserve ?
You can generally find me near lakes, ponds and slow-moving water like ox-bows. I prefer areas with an abundance of riparian vegetation (reeds, bulrushes, sedges).
When to spot me
You can find me on the wing from May to August.
