From the Vieux Rhin to the north meadow

The “Oie Cendrée” Footpath

This trail perfect for families will take you along the Vieux Rhin river to discover the relics of the softwood forest and the meadow which lies in the north of the island.

This walk is suitable any time of year. In winter you can spot the flocks of migratory birds settled on the Vieux Rhin or in summer watch the kingfishers fly to and from their nest or admire the pretty flowering meadows.

Difficulty: easy, relatively flat.

Distance: 2.5 km

Departure/arrival: follow the path that crosses the dike and walk down on the other side towards the reserve’s entrance gate.

Where to park: there is a car park opposite Rohrschollen hydroelectricity plant on Route du Rohrschollen, 67100 Strasbourg.
