DescrIption

I measure between 50 cm and 1 meter tall. I am a rare plant that is protected in Alsace. Widespread throughout Alsace in the 19th  century, all trace of me slowly disappeared until I was rediscovered in a meadow in Robertsau in 2012. Because I am so rare, I am receiving special attention.

Where and when can you find me in the reserve ?

• I prefer meadows and the hot, dry forest borders.
• My white to yellow flowers resemble small hanging pompoms. They only flower briefly between June and July.

What other species might you mistake me for ?

• My flowers and foliage are so distinctive that it’s difficult to confuse me with any other plant.

Conservation status

• Red list of vascular plants in metropolitan France: Data Deficient (DD).
• Red list of endangered vascular plants in Alsace: Endangered (EN).
• Protected in Alsace.
